Seismic vessel “Western Neptune” has left the port of Kirkenes

On 19 July the first in Russia state-of-the-art seismic vessel “Western Neptune” purchased by JSC SMNG has left the port of Kirkenes, Norway, for the performance of operations in the central part of the Barents Sea.

The vessel has been fully manned by JSC SMNG with experienced maritime and seismic crew run by the captain Alexander Schekin and party chief Vyacheslav Isakov. The specialists of JSC SMNG and JSC Rosgeo held a start-up meeting with the customer representatives to confirm the complete technical readiness of the vessel for the survey which will be carried out using 12 seismic streamers.

The arrival of the vessel “Rosgeo Neptune” at the survey area is expected on 22 July.
