G&G:
The survey straddles the area of overlap between the Douala Basin Tertiary and Rio Muni Cretaceous reservoir play fairways. The new seismic data images channelized turbidite systems in the Lower Tertiary and Upper Cretaceous sections including the extrapolated Campanian interval productive at Ceiba and Oveng/Okume. Trapping potential is provided by depositional geometries/compactional drape as well as low-relief basement-involved and gravity-driven thin-skinned structures. The area falls within the influence of proven petroleum systems linked to source rocks in the Upper Cretaceous section. Kitchen areas are modelled for these source intervals across the region with favourably late timing of maturation.
